Outside In is turning 40 and Gus Van
Sant is rolling out the red carpet to help us celebrate in style!
"Milk" tells the story
of prominent gay activist and San Francisco city politician Harvey
Milk during the years leading up to his assassination in
1978.
Starring Sean Penn, Emile Hirsch,
Josh Brolin and James Franco, "Milk" was
filmed on location in San Francisco. Many of Mr. Milk's real-life
surviving friends and former associates participated in the making of
this film, several appearing on camera.
The film will be the fourth
premiere Gus Van Sant has hosted for Outside In. We are indebted
to Gus for his dedication to helping Portland's homeless youth.
